WEEK 10!

Hi everyone...
I searched about the search site and I like the Simple English Wikipedia. It is so accesible for kids, even native speakers, and for adults who learn English. The idea of Wikipedia and how to use with it- we all familiar with. So someone who wants to practice and learn English can start from there, from the simple one, and enrich the language in easy way. Also, kids can use it to do some research in the class for a project or something- it will be better than the usual wikipedia and it will be MUCH better than the Hebrew wikipedia and translating.

week 6

teaching writing and speaking using technology can be great! I looked at the sites that Avraham sent us and I liked most of them. they are fun, motivated and some of them encourages creativity.

for teaching speaking i liked the voice thread, especially because i could actually use it with other people so i understood this tool better.

for spelling i found the spelling bee the most easy and clear site, but i felt that all the sites for spelling does not give the teacher place to write the specific words he/she wants the students to know. only the eduplace site, the "spelling match" relates to a specific book and material, if i understood it well.

I didn't like the pre-writing sites. i believe that good brainstorm has to be written by hands. to write a draft you need your best thinking and you can get it only if you write it down on a paper and not on the computer, so i don't think I'm going to use those tool ever...

i found the while-writing and post-writing sites and tool helpful. motivated and appropriate to the 21st century. the SMS generator is AWASOME!! i always wondered how can you create fiction messages. I'm sure that students will love it and already does it. the storyjumper is great for young children to get into a process of writing- in the beginning they can do the site's stories and in the end of the process they will get the blank book and be as creative as they can be. the last site/tool i want to discuss about is the printing press because it has varied printed things- newspaper, flyers etc. this variety can produce many creativity works of the students about one or two topics.

i would definitely use those excellent tools in my future class. i think that teachers should give their students many opportunities to learn, and in this week i found lots of them! 

thoughts about vocabulary tools...

I looked up on variety tools for learning and teaching vocabulary. This tools are so amazing! There are so many different tools that you can not decide which one is the best.. every tool has is own advantages and disadvantages, and each students can be benefit by other tool.
I think that as a future English teacher I should not focus on one tool but use seveark tools over the year so each student would find his own "best tool" and get the best he can get from it.

Hi,
I'm Merav Sela, 22 years old from Beit-El. I just started my forth year in Herzog, learning Special-education and English.This blog is going to be written during an online course.
I'm very ecxited about this course because I think that the education nowadays must involve the digital and online using and skills.
I hope that this course will teach me a lot of things which I dont know about the computers, the net and about all the digital era in general. I hope this course will help me to give my students a significant learning experience, too.
